During the cruise experience, you’ll hop aboard a traditional vessel for some relaxed River Avon sightseeing in historic Stratford-upon-Avon. You’ll cruise downstream past the famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church (the site of Shakespeare’s tomb), before turning around and passing under the 15th century Clopton Bridge. There’ll be audio tours available for you to learn more about the sights and sounds of Avon as you go.
For the next part of the experience, you’ll grab a fellow spirit-lover for an entertaining peek into the world of gin and rum with this Shakespeare Distillery Tour and Tastings for Two.
Follow your guide as they regale you with the fascinating history of gin and rum, before a tour of the distillery and the story of its beginnings. You’ll be taken through the process of creating craft spirits and find out how botanicals are chosen for different gins and rums. After the distillery tour, you’ll head to the tasting room, where you can enjoy a unique selection of spirits with tasting notes, followed by a G&T or rum and mixer each of your choice.
On arrival, you’ll simply present your voucher to the crew from Avon Boating Ltd for entry to the cruise.
For the next part of your experience you’ll head to Shakespeare Distillery, which is approx 11 mins drive away, for your Distillery Tour & Tasting. The two of you will learn all about the history of gin and rum and the company’s own story as you explore the distillery, before enjoying a guided tasting of three spirits and a Gin & Tonic or a rum and mixer of your choice.
Duration: Avon Boating Cruise - Bancroft Gardens The season runs seven days a week from 1 April to 31 October, with trips commencing at 10.30 am and running every 20 to 30 minutes.The Shakespeare Distillery The Tour & Tasting takes place at 1:00 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with an additional 11:00 am tour on Saturdays. Exclusions may Apply. Please allow up to 30 minutes for The River Cruise and up to 90 minutes for Tour & Tasting.

- Due to the historic nature of the boats there is no wheelchair access for anyone who is wheelchair bound
- There are a couple of steps onto the boat and they can store wheelchairs separately for anyone who can walk very short distances and are able to negotiate the steps
