St Paul's Cathedral Tickets
From royal weddings and state funerals to famous burials and more, St Paul's Cathedral has played a major role in London's history. Situated near the River Thames , St, Paul’s Cathedral is one of capital’s most iconic buildings.
Dedicated to Paul the Apostle, there has been a Cathedral on the same site since 604 AD, created in its present form by Sir Christopher Wren in the 17th century after the Great Fire of London.
Dominating the London skyline for 300 years, St Pauls Cathedral has seen many historic events including the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles and is the final resting place for multiple prominent figures from history including Admiral Lord Nelson, and Sir Christopher Wren himself.
Walk under the instantly recognisable Dome which stands at 365 metres, one for every day of the year, notice that the floor plan of the entire building is in the shape of a cross, and just marvel at the stunning feat of engineering and architecture. Wander through the Golden Gallery, The Stone Gallery and ‘Great Paul’, the 16 ½ tonne bell in the South-West tower.

Start times
The Cathedral usually opens for sightseeing Monday to Saturday at 8.30am. Wednesday’s at 10.00. Last admission to the Cathedral is at 4.00pm. Once inside the Cathedral, access to the Dome Galleries is from 9.30am to 4.15pm (10.00am to 4.15pm on Wednesdays). The Cathedral closes for sightseeing at 4.30pm. The shop closes at 4.30pm.
Within the Dome, the Whispering Gallery remains closed to the public until further notice. The Stone Gallery and Golden Gallery will be open. Entrance to the Golden Gallery is subject to availability due to continued capacity management and there may be time restrictions in place.
The restaurant remains closed. The coffee cart café is open in the Crypt Monday-Saturday.

New exhibition
The Quest for Knowledge
2023 marks the 300th anniversary of the death of Sir Christopher Wren, the architect of St Paul's Cathedral. Join us at St Paul’s this year, to discover more about his life and work, and how he created this magnificent masterpiece.
Sir Christopher Wren: The Quest for Knowledge is a new special exhibition at St Paul’s Cathedral that explores the life and work of Christopher Wren through archive material and personal artefacts. The exhibition investigates the genius of Wren and his ever-enquiring mind, highlighting his achievements in the fields of science and architecture and culminating in his greatest masterpiece, St Paul’s Cathedral.
The new exhibition opened on Thursday 27th April 2023. It is located in the Crypt and is included for all sightseeing ticketholders.

- Filming and photography is not allowed inside the Cathedral
- Children under six (6) years of age are admitted free of charge and do not require a ticket. (Children must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the galleries)
- Subject to the day of the week, the Stone Gallery and Golden Gallery are open.
- Stone and Golden Galleries are open on Saturdays and daily during half term holiday period.
- Entrance to the Golden Gallery is subject to availability due to continued distancing measures and there may be time restrictions in place.
- The restaurant remains closed. The coffee cart café is open in the Crypt Monday-Saturday.
- The Whispering Gallery remains closed to the public until further notice and access to the Golden Gallery may be limited

- Once inside the Cathedral, access to the Dome will be available from 09.30 to 16.15 (10.00 – 16.15 on Wednesdays), notwithstanding any variations to sightseeing opening hours at the Cathedral.
- Cancellation Policy: Your tickets can be cancelled free of charge up to 72 hours before the tour date. No refunds are given for cancellations made within 72 hours.
