Discover the night skies of Mount Teide, one of the world’s top three stargazing destinations. This premier two-in-one excursion begins with a guided evening tour of the renowned Izaña Solar Observatory. After watching a spectacular sunset, you'll explore the cosmos alongside an expert Starlight guide using professional long-range telescopes.
Your adventure begins in the afternoon as you journey into Teide National Park, travelling past the dramatic caldera of Las Cañadas and ancient volcanic formations. Arriving at the Izaña Solar Observatory—one of the top three places on Earth for astronomical research—you will step into the shoes of a scientist. Join an engaging astrophysics workshop, explore the inside of a nocturnal research telescope, and observe solar flares and sunspots in real time through specialized solar equipment.
As dusk settles, enjoy a relaxing dinner stop amid the changing twilight hues of the volcanic landscape. As day turns to night, the park transforms, revealing a thriving nocturnal ecosystem beneath some of the clearest skies in the world.
Your evening culminates at the base station of the Teide Cable Car, situated at an altitude of 2,356 metres. Far above urban light pollution, Mount Teide offers visibility of 83 of the 88 officially recognized constellations. Accompanied by an expert Starlight guide and using high-powered, professional-grade telescopes, you will explore distant galaxies, star clusters, planets, and mythological constellations. Even during a full moon, the experience shines as you inspect the glowing lunar landscape—including features named after Tenerife itself.

- The pick-up time will vary between 2.15pm and 4.30pm as it depends on the sunset time.
- The schedule depends on the collection point and varies throughout the year, depending on the sunset time. Once you have formalised your reservation, we will inform you of the pick-up time and exact location.
- Children under 8 are cannot participate in the Mount Teide by night trip. Proof of age is required.
- It is essential to be suitably attired, as the activity will be undertaken in low temperatures. Wear warm, comfortable clothing and proper footwear. Anyone wearing open footwear (sandals), shorts or short sleeves will not be allowed to join the excursion.
- Protect yourself from sunstroke.
- Due to the elevated luminosity, wear sunglasses.
- Take plenty of water on hikes.
- The Astronomic Tour is not recommended for people with poor general physical health (anaemia, heart disease, respiratory problems, and so on), nor for individuals with reduced mobility as the tour requires the use of paths and stairs.
- Please do not forget to bring identification (ID card or passport) and a copy of your reservation to confirm access. If you are unable to produce identification and/or the booking confirmation, the TO/IAC does not guarantee your visit.
- CANCELLATION POLICY: Free cancellations for bookings cancelled with the operator up to 72 hours before your chosen activity date. No refunds are given for cancellations made within 72 hours.
