Classic Kuranda from Port Douglas
Ride the Skyrail, explore the rainforest and meet Aussie wildlife on this unforgettable full-day tour to Kuranda! From cultural encounters to cute koalas, it’s a classic Queensland experience you won’t want to miss!
Discover the rainforest from every angle on the Classic Kuranda Tour from Port Douglas. Your day begins with a scenic ride on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, gliding above the lush canopy to the Kuranda Terminal. Along the way, enjoy stops at Red Peak Station and Barron Falls Station for incredible rainforest and waterfall views.
On arrival in Kuranda Village, enjoy free time to explore at your own pace or visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary (optional, at own expense).
Later, travel to Rainforestation Nature Park for an afternoon packed with experiences. Sit down to a delicious Aussie BBQ buffet lunch, then board an Army Duck amphibious rainforest tour, travelling on both land and water as your guide shares insights into the region’s unique flora and fauna. Wander through the Tropical Fruit Orchard and enjoy the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience, featuring traditional dance performances followed by a hands-on Dreamtime Walk, where you’ll learn boomerang throwing and watch spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing.
Explore the Koala & Wildlife Park, home to kangaroos, wallabies, crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary. Optional photo opportunities with a koala or small crocodile are available (at own expense).
To complete the journey, travel back to Freshwater Station aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway, winding through 15 hand-cut tunnels and past spectacular waterfalls. The tour concludes at approximately 5:20 pm, with hotel drop-offs commencing shortly after.

- Transfers not available from private residences (including AirBnB properties) – guests will need to meet at Skyrail Smithfield Terminal, or make their own way to another pickup location
- Pick-ups from Port Douglas are from central locations. Your nearest pick-up location will be advised when you re-confirm your booking locally.
- *Cancellation Policy: Free cancellations and amendments are allowed for bookings cancelled with the tour operator up to 24 hours before your chosen activity date. Please keep in mind that there is a significant time difference between Australia and the UK, so be sure to allow for this when making your cancellation. After the 24-hour window, no amendments or refunds will be provided.
