Wine & Cheese Tasting in Rome

An excellent pre-dinner treat, sample some fine wines typical of the Lazio region and an inviting selection of regional cheeses, premium salami and succulent hams in a traditional wine bar in the heart of Rome.

Enjoy the Italian way of life in the heart of Rome by stopping off at the 18th-century Palazzetto Giangiacomo and visit a traditional Italian wine bar to taste a selection of different wines and cheeses.

With the wooden booths, shelves lined with carefully selected bottles from prestigious wineries and a wide antique shop counter, Enoteca is an authentic and atmospheric spot to spend some time.

Listen closely as your sommelier teaches you how to drink and taste the wine, explains the differences between colors and perfumes and also provides the history of the area where the wines are produced.

What's more, an inviting selection of regional cheeses, premium salami and high-quality ham will be served to complement the beverages.

Examples of some perfect parings between food and wine:

  • Try a glass of Bellone, a forgotten antique local white grape variety paired with Rome's ricotta, a rich and flavorful by-product of pecorino romano.
  • Or taste a glass of Frascati Superiore, the white wine associated with Rome from the vineyards visible from the periphery of the city paired with pecorino Romano, a typical salty hard cheese from Lazio.
  • You can also enjoy a glass of Nero Buona, a traditional, antique variety of red grapes, cultivated in the hills of Cori, combined with coppiette, a flavorful and spicy roman beef jerky or porchetta, a spit-roasted pig stuffed with wild herbs.

These menus offered are only examples of the quality of the products, which can be changed with seasonal food.
