Seville by Train

Experience the beautiful architecture, colourful history and picturesque street life of the Andalucian capital on this charming day tour from Madrid.

Your day starts when you board the AVE train in Madrid for a high-speed journey to Seville where a fascinating guided tour and plenty of freetime awaits.

According to legend, Sevilla was founded by Hercules and its origins are linked with the Tartessian civilisation. It was called Hispalis under the Romans and Isbiliya by the Moors who ruled the city for 800 years and this Moorish influence is evident in much of the beautiful architecture.

Discover this on more on the 'Seville Fascinating & Monumental' Tour which begins at 11am. As the name suggests, this itinerary focuses on Seville's most important monuments and also includes entry to three of them.

With an official tour guide leading the way, take a stroll along the shore of the Guadalquivir, the great king of Andalusia, before discovering the charm of the Hispanic-Muslim architecture situated throughout the city.

You will be shocked by the Gothic-Mudejar beauty of the Reales Alcázares and amazed by the dimensions of the Cathedral of Saint Mary, both buildings declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO (Entry to these sites is included).

Next, walk through the streets and the courtyards of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter of Seville where the second largest Jewish community in Spain was established.

Finally, if you feel up to it, finish the day with a climb of almost 98 meters at the Giralda, undisputed symbol of the city, a nice way to say goodbye to an unforgettable tour.

Afterwards, you will have plenty of free time to explore, buy souvenirs, or simply wander under the beautiful orange trees that line the atmospheric district of Santa Cruz before making your own way to Santa Justa Railway Station (AVE) for your return journey to Madrid.
