Seville Markets & Bites

Join an expert local guide for a foodie adventure through Seville, hunting down the finest produce the region has to offer. Unlock the secrets of Andalusian gastronomy, visit the best markets in the city and taste lots of authentic local treats. This food tour will be a treat for your head, heart and stomach!

Markets are at their best in the morning when the produce is fresh and abundant. So, your tour begins bright and early at one of the most beautiful and active local food markets, in the charming Triana district. Here, you will see what the locals are buying for dinner, with a huge variety of products and fresh produce on offer.

Stop to introduce you to one of the most famous gourmet products in Spain, melt-in-the-mouth Iberian ham (or cheese for vegetarians), with a glass of wine, sherry or a soft drink to wash it down as you discuss the process of obtaining this remarkable cured meat. Next, enjoy the aromas and flavours of some different olive varieties, marinated in typical Spanish dressings. So far, so very Spanish!

After this heavenly tasting experience, you will cross the Guadalquivir River over the bridge of Triana, where you enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Seville.

The next stop is the Encarnacion market, located inside the biggest wooden structure in the world, which the locals affectionately refer to as ‘the mushrooms.’ This market is a much more modern affair with a rich assortment of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and fish stands. As you wander, you will have the opportunity to stop and try a snack, such as a montadito (little sandwich) with a drink of your choice. This will ensure you have enough energy to walk to your next exciting destination...

Your scenic stroll will take you through Regina Street, one of the best areas for in-the-know locals and tourists in the city for second-hand boutiques and cultural cafes.

Arrive at the Mercado de la Feria, one of the oldest in town, dating all the way back to 1719. It also happens to be our favourite because the architecture and the atmosphere are fabulous and the produce on offer is consistently of high quality, and at reasonable prices too. You will stop to enjoy a delicious tapa of fried fish and glass of something to refresh you, making sure that you don’t finish your tour hungry or thirsty!

If you are lucky enough to book this tour on a Thursday, you will also be able to take in the oldest flea market in the city located at the same address as the Mercado.

Your food journey ends here, but before you go, don’t forget to ask your guide for tips on where else to eat, shop and visit during your stay in sunny Seville. Salud!
