Queen Charlotte Track One Day Guided Cruise and Walk

This is a great trip for those who have limited time or don't want to walk the whole 71-kilometre trail but do want to get a snapshot into some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the world. Enjoy a rewarding walk along the premier section of the Queen Charlotte Track and enjoy the stunning views across the Marlborough Sounds.

Your adventure starts with a scenic boat cruise from Picton, past salmon farms and seabirds on a beautiful voyage to Ship Cove, a historic and scenic reserve that Captain Cook visited several times during the seventeenth century.

From there, enjoy a guided walk along a 14 kilometre stretch of what is generally considered the premier section of the Queen Charlotte track. The walk takes around 5 hours. The bush is mainly a mixture of stunning podocarp and beech forest with punga ferns and other New Zealand native foliage.

Take in the many beautiful views across the Marlborough Sounds while your informative, local guide explains the European and pre-European connections of this significant historical area, as well as providing detailed information on flora and fauna. At one of the viewing areas, stop for a gourmet picnic lunch before continuing on to meet the boat and return back to Picton.
