An unforgettable in-depth tour of Queensland’s Hidden Oasis visiting the stunning Tamborine National Park and the World Heritage Listed Rainforest of Lamington.
Your day commences with a scenic drive inland towards Kelly Valley, crossing rough farm land where you will probably spot some kangaroos lazing under gum trees; explore the natural grandeur of Gold Coast Hinterland and drive along exciting off-road trails through this natural paradise with its densely forested valleys. This trek takes you into the mountainous regions of World Heritage Listed Lamington National Park with magnificent views of mountains and valleys to the west as you head towards the volcanic plateau of Tamborine Mountain.
After a few hours driving, there is the chance to stretch your legs on a leisurely bush walk . Acompanied by a friendly local explore the subtropical lush rainforest and learn about it’s unique characteristics and how the aborigines have lived in harmony with the forest for thousands of years. Koala bears often seen relaxing on the eucalyptus branches in the tranquil woodlands. At Spring Gully there is the chance to dive into the crystal clear waters of a natural rock pool and re-charge your batteries. Here you will also be served a BBQ lunch comprising beef steaks, chicken fillets or ocean fish.
Afterwards, head towards O’Reilly’s Plateau where you can enjoy the outstanding scenery of Lamington National Park. The Treetop Canopy Boardwalk offers visitors a wonderful close-up view of this subtropical rainforest area. Here you can hand feed and observe beautiful wild parrots adorned with colours worthy of the best artist’s palette; admire the Rainbow Lorikeets, find the red and green King Parrot and marble at the gorgeous pastel blue and yellow of the Pale Headed Rosellas
