This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I couldn’t believe how beautiful all of BC was but seeing killer whales in the flesh in those surroundings was just amazing, quite a humbling experience really. Our boat trip was fine and we saw lots of seals along the way but actually seeing the whales completely takes your breath away. We had to get up quite early, earlier than is healthy on holiday I thought, but the guide came to get us from our hotel, the Renaissance Harbourside, and we were on the way. They served up a yummy lunch on board which funnily enough had salmon in it which is what the whales are chasing in the area too. One thing I would recommend if you are going to go on this cruise is that you take a jacket and some of the people on our cruise took binoculars which I think would be really handy as I wanted to borrow theirs!
