On a good day the sunlight streaming through the canopy will bathe the forest in a magnificent golden blanket, making the views this expedition offers even more breathtaking. Muir Wood’s key feature is the looming Coastal Redwood, the tallest of the trees in the forest reaching an amazing height of 258 feet tall. The inviting aroma of the Coastal Redwoods, California Bay Laurel and the wonderful scent of fresh air in this quiet and unspoiled setting will evoke an unparalleled sense of peacefulness that will leave you feeling surprisingly close to your surroundings.
Once you have fulfilled the nature section of the tour you’ll make your way back to San Francisco, but not before stopping at the charming artist enclave of Sausalito. Located in the San Francisco Bay area at the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito is famed for its spectacular waterfront views and houseboats. You’ll be able marvel at the beauty of San Francisco from yet another vantage point as you head back across the famous Golden Gate Bridge in plenty of time to explore the awakening City.
