Top of the Rock was one of the hightlights of my recent trip to New York. I have been 5 times and this is the first time I went to the TOTR always choosing the more famous Empire State Building.
I purchased the tickets from dosomethingdifferent.com and didn't need to queue with this pre-paid ticket. I went up at about 4pm when it was still light and stayed up there until the sun went down and the lights across the city came on. WOW!!!!!!! The view is fantastic - To see the Empire State Building from the TOTR is fantastic and the view of Central Park blew my mind.
There is also this really cool light room, before you go out on to the viewing platform, its hard to describe- but look out for it.

It was amazing experience and you see a lot.
I was first time in New York and Top of the Rock was fantastic. I recommend for everybody.

This is well worth the money you get an excellent view of Central Park and area and was better for me than the Empire States Building, no queue to contend with!A excellent place to take the video recorder. Got some brill footage which were unable to get from the top of the empire state, as our camera would not work on the observation deck.
