Overview
Travel 60km’s south-east of Munich where you will find Chiemsee, the largest lake in Bavaria. You will then take a boatride to Herreninsel island, home to King Ludwig II’s magnificently extravagant Royal Castle of Herrenchiemsee, a replica of the Palace of Versailles.
After your tour of the castle you will travel by boat to the island of Fraueninsel, one of the most beautiful places in Bavaria and boasting an ancient Benedictine Monastery at the center of the island.
