Sit back and watch the world go by as you wind through stunning scenery on this journey towards Central Otago, through hand carved tunnels and awe-inspiring viaducts.   

From Dunedin’s historic station you will cross the fertile Taieri Plains before you begin to ascend through Otago’s high, rugged mountains on the twists and turns of the railway line built over 100 years ago.  You will travel over 12 magnificent stone and wrought iron viaducts and plunge into 10 of the line’s narrow tunnels as you continue on through the dramatic hills of Central Otago to the small rural town of Pukerangi.
