Sydney's best behind the scenes tour sees you exploring the inner workings of the world famous Sydney Opera House before heading off to meet the animals and their keepers on Taronga Zoo's Wild Australia Experience.
An early start at the stage door ensures that your journey into the inner sanctum of the Sydney Opera House is not restricted in any way. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through areas not normally seen by the public as they tell stories of past stars and performers as well as giving you an understanding of the building's history and architecture. Sit in the orchestra pit or scale the conductor's podium before standing on the very stage where stars such as Pavarotti have preformed. After your tour continues through the backstage and stagehand area you will be treated to a full Australian breakfast in the Green Room.
After breakfast your private water taxi will whisk you away over Sydney harbour. Enjoy the world famous harbour views back to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the iconic Sydney Opera House before arriving at Mosman and Taronga Zoo. You will see why Taronga Zoo has been nicknamed "the zoo with the view" as you enter on the Sky Safari cable car which carries you high above the animals and provides excellent views back over the harbour.
Upon meeting your keeper your Wild Australia Experience begins. The tour has an emphasis on communication between the animals, their keepers and visitors and through this interaction you will gain an insight into the running of the zoo as well as an understanding of some of Australia's unique native animals. Meet and hand feed kaolas, kangaroos, and echidnas in their enclosure and learn about the special adaptations of Australia's animals. Your tour concludes at the Treetops Cafe with a delicious morning tea but you are free to stay at the zoo for the rest of the day before catching the ferry back to Circular Quay whenever you are ready.
