My dad bought me the Sydney Bridge Climb for my birthday in Oz and it was the best present ever! I arrived at the Bridge Climb HQ about half an hour before and put on the blue all in one suit you have to wear that protects your clothes from getting snagged on the bridge. We also had these headphones that meant our guide could talk to all of us as we were climbing. I was pretty nervous as I’m not that good with heights but we had a briefing before we began the climb which made me feel a bit more confident!
There were 13 of us including our guide in the group and we were all harnessed to a safety line throughout. I totally forgot that I was nervous as the 360 degree views were absolutely amazing, I felt completely safe and we stopped a few times so our instructor could point various things out to us and tell us about the history of Sydney and the bridge. The harbour looked like a big glittering pond with tiny model boats on it and you could see for miles – it is the most awesome birds’ eye view!
It took a bit of time to get to the top but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be, and although you do have to climb some ladders the walkways are quite wide. Once we got to the top we had a group photo which came out so well – the backdrop of the opera house, the city and the harbour is just so stunning and I can’t believe I was actually up there!
I really think this is a once in a lifetime experience – how often do you get to climb up one of the most iconic bridges in the world and then look out over such an incredible view?! I’ll definitely be recommending this to my friends visiting Sydney as the biggest highlight of my trip – I’m also persuading my dad to do it when he goes there on holiday next year!

I was a bit sceptical about this at first, but you don't realise how high it is from the ground! It's definitely worth doing, and I'd pass on the recommendation to do it during twighlight if possible (make sure you book in time for these slots though as places fill up fast).

The views on the top of the Sydney bridge were excellent, once you've got over the terror of being so high! Don't forget though, you musn't have a brandy or anything to calm your nerves before you go- they breathalyse you before you set off!

I did the Sydney Bridge Climb just before Christmas and I loved it. I thought it would be really easy but you do end up climbing quite high and for some reason the first bit where you can see right down to the ground through the criss-crossed metal sent shivers down my spine. The incredible views over Sydney are well worth it though, it's just a pity you can't take your camera up with you. When we first got there I thought all the security and safety precautions were a bit much but I seemed to forget all about it once I was up there. I'd definitely recommend the Bridge Climb, if you don't do it when you are in Sydney you will regret it.

Have just done the Bridge Climb for the second time which shows it must be good! I don't think I'll ever get tired of the views, it's really special. I also learned new stuff about the bridge this time - the guides are really knowledgeable and speak to you via a headset the whole way round. Ask them about the guy who fell off the bridge while it was being built and survived!
I'm actually afraid of heights but the only bit of the climb that was scary was the bit at the beginning when you walk on a narrow board over lanes of traffic to get to the start of the climb...but Bernie kept chatting through our headsets which took my mind of it.
The first time I did the Bridge Climb was in summer, and it was daylight the whole time. This time it was in June so at about 5pm, on our way back down the bridge, the sun was setting which was amazing. We got a little bit cool towards the very end but they kit you out with a fleece and even gloves if you want them. I'd definitely recommend doing it around sunset time - it means you can have two very different photos, one with the city in daylight in the background, and one with the sun setting on the horizon.
