Overview
The trail is guided by a naturalist who will explain about the Vermilion Pass Burn, the trace of the 1968 forest fire and the importance of its rejuvenation for the environment. Along the way, hear stories of Banff’s indigenous people, explorers and fur traders who lived and traveled through the Rockies. You will have a chance to see first hand some of the clothes, tools and techniques used by these hardy people to make a living in the mountains. At the halfway point, stop for a brief respite with a warming cup of hot chocolate.
