This had to be one of many highlights of our trip around New Zealand.

Opting for the bus trip to the river rather than the helicopter, the journey was as thrilling as the actual rafting as we drove along old mining roads with steep cliffs to the side.

Our experience was made all teh better by the others in our raft as well as the guide.

Safety is the main priority and you don't do anything that will endanger you.

The ride down river is amazing from the increasing rapids to the finale through the tunnel and out into a drop.

You do get very involved paddling and even more so in taunting other rafts and soaking each other.
