Renowned as the ultimate White Water Rafting experience, this tour will take you on a wild adventure through the tumbling rapids of the magnificent Shotover River. 

Your experience starts with a stunning drive along the road to Skipper’s Canyon as it twists around the steep cliffs.  This historic gold miner's road is only to be attempted by experienced drivers and your expert driver gets you to the launch site of your rafting trip with ease.  After a comprehensive safety briefing and a lesson on paddling techniques you set off on the tranquil waters of the upper canyon to familiarize yourself with the river and take in the breathtaking scenery through the canyon.

 

As you progress down the river the adventure really begins!  You will tackle 10 white water rapids including the Toilet, Pinball, Jaws, Sequel, Miners Revenge and then raft through the eerie darkness of the 170m Oxenbridge tunnel before shooting the Cascade Rapid to complete the challenge.  After you have completed your journey on the river enjoy a hot shower, sauna and complimentary snack before returning to Queenstown.

Departures are subject to weather, road and river conditions. Please note that a minimum of 8 passengers is needed for this tour to depart. If your party is less than 8 passengers you will be put in a raft to make up this minimum number. If minimum numbers are not reached you will be either rescheduled for another date or refunded in full.

The river is graded as 3-5 so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Recommended minimum age is 13 years.

Please note that this tour is not available between June 1st to 15th Sept as the river cannot be accessed by Skipper's Canyon Road at this time.
