The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is the largest governing body for motor sports in the U.S.  If you’ve seen the Tom Cruise movie, Days of Thunder, then you’ll have some idea of the speed and the daring manoeuvres involved during races and the frenzied excitement of the crowd.  The real thing is far more exhilarating (and less cheesy) of course and is an out-and-out pure slice of Americana that is not to be missed; have you got what it takes? For the uninitiated, Richard Petty is arguably the greatest and certainly the most successful NASCAR driver ever, collecting a record number of poles (127) and over 700 top-ten finishes including 200 race wins.  Not only this but he was also a pretty well-liked chap winning 9 most popular driver awards - you know you’re in good hands!

• Transport - You will be required to make your own way to the circuit.  However a free shuttle is available from the Transportation Center (TTC) at the Disney's Magic Kingdom 
• Food & drink

Socks, closed toe shoes and clothes that will be comfortable under the suit

• The cars do not have doors so participants must be able to climb through a 15” high by 30” wide window that sits 36” from the ground.
• If the track is wet, then you will be offered an alternative date
• Top speed varies according to student performance, track location and the limits set for each programme.
• Participants must at least 18 years old

• Your experience will be in NASCAR-style stock cars
• No prior racing experience is required, but you must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a standard transmission (UK style gearbox) to participate
• Each Richard Petty package is built to offer something a little different; you do not need to start at the Rookie experience
