Your day starts with a 2-hour drive from Kuching as you head for Gunung Gading National Park. Rugged mountain peaks provide a scenic backdrop to the nearby beaches at Pandan and Siar and you will also find thick forest and scenic waterfalls. However, the undoubted highlight of the area is the giant Rafflesia, the world’s largest plants. The amazing flowers can reach up to one metre and diameter. 

Enjoy a full day in the scenic surroundings of the National Park. There are a number of fascinating and spectacular walks, leading through rainforest to magnificent jungle waterfalls and the flowering Rafflesia. These jungle trails and plank walks allow you to tour the park without damaging the delicate ecosystem and if the plant is flowering deeper in the forest, the park staff will take you to the sight. Blooming Rafflesia flowers may be a fair distance from park headquarters and so guests should be prepared to walk for some time in hot and humid conditions. A packed lunch is provided which can be enjoyed outdoors in this scenic setting.
