Overview

Take a spectacular ride on the historic steam train ‘Puffing Billy’ through the breathtaking Dandenong Ranges on Australia's most famous narrow gauge railway.  Enjoy the wonderful views of forest and mountain and listen to the chorus of bellbirds and kookaburras as they compete with the steam train's whistle.  On arrival in Victoria’s picturesque wine region, depart from the train and enjoy a scenic tour through the Yarra Valley by coach, culminating in a delicious spit roast lunch at Fergusson’s Winery, where Peter and Louise Fergusson will also give you the opportunity to explore their production facilities and taste their fabulous wines.

In the afternoon, head to nearby Healesville Sanctuary, a haven for over 200 species of native Australian birds, mammals and reptiles set in natural bush in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.  Here you can wander through the paddocks and get close to the kangaroos and wallabies, view wombats, echidnas, dingoes, Tasmanian Devils, snakes and goannas and also observe shy platypus in the renowned Nocturnal House.
