This colourful journey introduces you to the history, lifestyle and unique character of the Peranakan Babas (Men) and Nonyas (women). Your day starts with a visit to the Spice Garden which sits on the site of the first Botanic Gardens. Here you will discover the wonderful plants that bore the spices that go into Peranakan cooking. Afterwards, visit the Asian Civilizations Museum where you can see the largest collection of Peranakan exhibits. This fascinating display reveals the wonderful costume embroidery, beadwork, porcelain, furniture, craftwork and culture of the Peranakans.

Next this charming tour takes you to the bustling enclaves of Katong and Joo Chait. See rows of traditional Peranakan houses showcasing the rich and baroque architecture. The area is also famous for its traditional local food. After a Peranakan beading demonstration there is the welcomed chance to sample some Nonya delicacies.
