The beautiful MacPherson Ranges run through part of the world renowned Lamington National Park; so named after Lord Lamington, governor of Queensland in the early 20th century.  Mount Tamborine itself is a geological phenomenon in this World Heritage Listed Area – created by an outpouring of solidified lava from nearby Mount Warning.  The park is a unique place; home to rare flora and fauna, interspersed with picturesque villages and breathtaking vistas to the coast.

On this tour you will travel 45 km in to the Gold Coast hinterland up to the natural plateau of Lamington National Park, where upon arrival, morning tea will be provided (additional cost, payable locally). Wander along Mount Tamborine’s ‘Gallery Walk’, taking in the local art and craft shops and fresh mountain air.

Head to the ‘Green Mountains’ of O’Reilly’s, hearing the history of this area and the epic adventures of early settlers and learn of the heroic rescue by Bernard O’Reilly of two survivors from the Stinson plane crash. Climb to the very heights of the rainforest and walk among the ancient treetops as you traverse the famed O’Reilly’s Treetop Walk.  See the rainforest canopy at eye level and the unique birds, orchids and other flora that thrive in this enigmatic environment.   Feed the huge array of tropical birds with specially prepared wild bird seed before enjoying a well-earned lunch of your own!

Spend the afternoon at the lush Canungra Valley Vineyards on the banks of Canungra Creek, sampling delicious wines with expert vintners in the warm surrounds of an historic homestead before your transfer back to the Gold Coast or Brisbane.
