Bask in the warm sun as you cruise aboard the 65-foot Maxi Catamaran the Pride of Maui towards the mysterious Molokini crater in anticipation of some first rate snorkelling in which you will encounter schools of tropical fish and maybe octopi, eels, turtles, even the odd (harmless) shark.
Once you have been, it is easy to understand why Molokini snorkelling has become the number 1 snorkelling destination in the Hawaiian Islands. Molokini offers exceptionally clear water with visibility reliably in excess of 150 feet. Your guide will lead you to the best spots on a fascinating snorkel before moving on to Turtle Town for more snorkelling. Turtle Town is bordered by a coral reef and underwater lava formations, animated by numerous colorful fishes, starfishes, and other aquatic delights. Here you will be welcomed by one of Maui's most gentle residents, the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. The curious sea turtles, who are intrigued by your presence, will often swim near you, to get a closer look. The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles are a protected species and it is unlawful to touch, chase, ride or harass them in any way. By swimming calmly, and respecting the green sea turtles in their natural environment, guests are often delighted at how close the sea turtles will swim to you.
The friendly crew aboard the Pride of Maui make it their business to get to know you, which all makes for a relaxed ambience. The day starts with muffins baked fresh on board, fresh tropical fruit, orange juice and freshly ground and brewed Kona Coffee. While you are snorkelling at Molokini, your Pride of Maui crew will fire up the grill and cook up some of the best BBQ you have tasted. You will enjoy big juicy burgers, chicken breasts, veggie burgers, jumbo hot dogs, refreshing pasta salad and all the fixins. Soft drinks, fruit juices, filtered water, ice cold beer, wine and delicious mai tais are also available.
In addition to the abundance of sea life around Molokini, keep an extra eye out during December to April as you may spot Humpback whales at play!
