We were down visiting my sister and her husband for about a month and didn't know what to give them for a thank gift so we went on the web and came across DO Something different and saw this fishing trip in Marlborough Sounds as both Dave and Ian are mad on fishing this seemed the perfect gift. The captain knew the best place to go and while the men settled down with their rods we just relaxed enjoying the sun. The boat wasn't too crowded so that was good and the crew were very helpful. There was quite a bit of excitement when both of them got fish and that they were big enough for us to keep the fish and I must admit I didn't hang around to see them gut the fish. Well by the time the men folk had finished we had enough for our meal that evening and it was true that one of the local restaurents would cook the fish for us so what better way of finishing of a fantastic day than eating fish caught and cooked on the same day with a salad and washed down with a lovely chilled glass or 2 of Marlborough Sauvignon blanc . This trip would be just as good for some-one that has never fished before.
