Enjoy the view of the Manhattan from a most gloriously relaxing and stylish angle; aboard an 82-foot vintage 1920's schooner- Sail around New York Harbour aboard classic 1920's yacht
"Shearwater" is an 82-foot vintage 1920's schooner built at the height of the roaring twenties as the personal yacht of Charles E. Dunlap, a prominent New York City industrialist. The boat is currently the largest, most classic and elegant sailing yacht in the harbour and at 70 tons, is twice the weight of most sailboats her size resulting in exceptionally comfortable cruising.
Having been used as a backdrop to a number of glamerous photo shoots, and host to private parties for the rich & famous, she is now open for the public to experience. Time Out New York calls it a "a sublime experience", and National Geographic Traveler remarked that "Shearwater is a romantic vision".
Your sail departs from the North Cove Marina at the World Financial Center and the morning departure captures the light at its best. The tour lasts for approximately one and a half hours during which you will be treated to spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge, as well as the famous skyline of course. Be warned that time passes very quickly in such spectacular and comfortable surroundings!
