Sail across the sea from Hong Kong to Macau on a jetfoil or catamaran. The journey lasts around 60 minuts and brings you to the Monte Carlo of the Far East. Here the charm of Chinese and Portuguese heritages is embraced in an array of modernized architecture. Sightseeing begins with a drive along Guia Circuit where the Macau Grand Prix is held annually before you visit Macau's historic centre, the 31st designated UNESCO World Heritage site in China. See the 400 year old Na Tcha Temple, Old City Walls, Mount Fortress and the landmark of Macau – Ruins of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. This Roman Catholic Church was built in 1602 and burned by fire in 1835. Miraculously, fine art of carvings and statues can be seen on the surviving facade. Walk down the picturesque cobblestone streets, past furniture shops to colourful Senado Square.
The tour also takes you to the Macau Tower and stops at Porta do Cerco, the official land crossing point into China, for a glimpse of the Chinese Border Guards. The Tower was designed by Mr Gordon Moller, a New Zealand architect. It is 338 meters high and ranked the 11th highest in the world (an optional visit to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the city is available, payable locally). Lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant in Fisherman's Wharf and you will also have the chance to try your luck at the gambling tables of the world famous casino in Macau before leaving the city in the late afternoon.
