"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than by the things you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

Overview
Situated 28 miles south of
Prague, Konopiste dates from the 13th century and has been shaped by Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque influences. Here you can admire its fascinating collection of historical furniture, sculptures, paintings, tapestries and countless hunting trophies exhibited there. It was once the home of the successor to the Austrian throne, Ferdinand dEste, whose assassination in
Sarajevo in 1914 served as a pretext to the start of World War I.
