Situated around 120 kilmetres south of Kota Kinabalu, Klias Wetlands is a haven for animal and birdlife - its most famous resident is arguably the wonderful proboscis monkeys. Your fascinating two-hour boat ride takes you through the mangrove forest reserve and offers a wonderful chance to spot and even get close to the plethora of wildlife in their natural environment. Although wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed there is a high chance you will see proboscis monkeys, long tail macaques and silver languor monkeys as well as a myriad of tropical birds. As dusk falls look out for crocodiles that come to the waters edge to hunt. After your river safari, enjoy a village-style dinner surrounded by the sounds of nature before your return journey back to Kota Kinabalu.

Casual. Dress according to the weather for that day. It is recommended that you take a bottle of water and don't forget your camera! The boats are not covered so if it rains there is a high chance you will get wet!
