Overview

Karlestein Castle was built in the 14th Century by Charles IV to house the treasure of the Holy Roman Empire including the imperial coronation jewels. The castle is situated just outside of the capital in the middle of dense forests giving it that extra mysterious feeling. Here you can explore the main building including a chance to view the foundation stone that that was laid in 1348. This trip is one of the most popular for visitors to Prague so it’s definitely not one to be missed!
