Escape the bustling city of Hanoi on this day long adventure on the legendary waters of the Red River. A relaxing cruise along the river is combined with a scenic bike ride to discover handicraft villages where Vietnamese traditions are still part of everyday life.

Depart from Hanoi at around 8.00am to reach the shores of the Red River, where you will be welcomed by the crew of the Jewel of the Delta boat. The Red River flows all the way from China through Vietnam and this legendary waterway is surrounded by fertile agricultural land enriched by the red tinted flood waters. After a gentle cruise along the river, arrive at Chi Phuong Dock where you hop on a modern bicycle for a scenic bike ride along the winding country roads and lush vegetation of the Red River Delta.

Cycling is the perfect way to discover the region's cultural heritage and meet the local population and along the route, there is a chance to stop at the But Thap Pagoda. Pedal to Dong Ho Handicraft village, renowned for its unique wood prints. Each family runs their own workshop and we have the opportunity to observe how the printing process works. Return to the boat where a delicious five course Vietnamese lunch will be served by a friendly crew, as you travel to the next destination. In the afternoon, the boat will stop at Hanoi’s Gia Law District beside another handicraft village - Bat Trang Ceramic village. The local community here has been producing bricks and pottery since the fifteenth century. You will return to Hanoi at around 4.00pm

Casual, dress according to the weather for that day. Bring a bottle of water and loose clothing for the bike ride. Please note that cycling is optional and that there is a support vehicle on hand for those that do not wish to cycle.
