Overview
The tour is a great introduction to the history and heritage of the region providing you with a great insight of Anglo-Zulu war history. Go back in time to 1879 as you visit the legendary battle sites where the Zulu army attacked the British camp by surprise just beneath the mountain of Isandlwana. The Zulus armed with simple muskets overpowered the British infantry armed with Martin-Henry riffles. Your second stop will be at Rorkes Drift, an internationally renowned area where 100 British soldiers fought and succeeded against 4,000 Zulu worriers in a 13 hour battle losing only 17men. Enjoy a meal and a scenic tour across KwaZulu-Natal where the bloody history of these sites contrasts with the tranquil scenery of unspoiled nature.
