My husband brought me a hot air balloon flight for our 40th Wedding anniversary. I was as excited as I opened the envelope as it was something that I had always wanted to do but never thought I could afford so it was a wonderful present and an experience I will never forget.
So the day came to do our flight, I was so excited. We were told what would happen and given full instructions. My husband was even allowed to help assist with the inflation of the balloon I of course supervised ,then it was time to get in the basket which was not the easiest thing to do, then we were off…. Floating away from the ground and watching people getting smaller and smaller you go up about 1000 it was peaceful and calm and you do feel like your floating. The occasional sound of the burners but apart from that it was silent. You can see for miles and miles and are up in the air for about an hour before the pilot starts to look for landing sites, it only felt like we were up there for about 10 minutes but it was an hour. The pilot told us he would try and do a nice soft landing but it was not as soft as I hoped, in fact it was to say the least a little bumpy, but we were all fine and laughed as we came to a stop. It was all good fun and added to the experience. Getting out of a balloon basket was even harder than getting in it was so hilarious!Beware ladies wear trousers!!

Once landed we were given a complimentary glass of champagne which is a nice touch although my fingers could hardly hold the glass it was so cold. You also receive a certificate, signed by the pilot
I would recommend this to everyone I know I won't forget it for the rest of life and it made my wedding anniversary.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for arranging for myself and my girlfriend, at the time, a VIP balloon flight from Leeds castle Kent. I say at the time as she is now my Fiancée. Yes I had the most perfect settings, 2,500 feet above Leeds Castle and the Kent country side to get on one knee and ask the most important question of my life and what a place to do it. And now having done it, possibly the only place to do so. Want to also take this opportunity to thank the people at Leeds Castle balloons and the pilot who were all in on my little secret and moved Heaven and Earth to get us up on our flight.

The ride itself was unbelievable, the most serene experience of my life, peaceful, yet exhilarating, felt involved every step of the way, from meeting the great pilot, who knew exactly what to do when I was trying to get down on one knee in a wicker basket. To the champagne cork popping and our exciting landing. Loved every second and would recommend to anyone, for a special occasion or just doing something different.
