Reviews for Hong Kong Island Tour

As we were only staying in Hong Kong for 3 days we wouldn't to see as much as possible and it was really easy to arrange I just called Do Something different before we left and gave them the date we wanted to do the Hong Kong tour and when we arrived at our hotel I just called to reconfirm and they gave me the pick up time. The view from Victoria Peak was really fantastic and you couldn't believe how many buildings could fit into such a small area of land. I wasn't too keen on going round the Stanley market as we went past a stall selling dry fish and I was really pleased not to have had any food at that time because the smell was really terrible. We did manage to pick up a few presents while we were in the market. It does seem strange that they still do fish and live on the junks, can't say I would fancy doing that. The floating restaurents were a bit to gaudy for my liking but it is part of the tradition in Aberden harbour. It was certainly different to have the drinks served in a jewellery showroom and I certainly would have like to purchase some of them to take home. It was certainly a busy 4 and half hours trip but certainly worth the money and we would certainly say it would be good for someone who hadn't been to Hong Kong before.

We didn't have much time in Hong Kong as we decided at the last minute to visit for a couple of days while we were in Vietnam. We decided on this tour as we wanted to see as much as possible on our first day and didn't want to have to navigate our own way around the island. I'm so glad we did as we then spent one day just chilling out on Lantau and another on the beach at Deep Water Bay. I would've been very disappointed if we hadn't checked out Hong Kong properly, although I definitely enjoyed relaxing! The Stanley markets were just mental, there were so many people but our guide told us that it was quiet as we went during the week. I can't imagine how mad it must be during the weekend. I think the best part of the day for me was all the boats at Aberdeen and obviously the incredible views over Hong Kong and the harbour from Victoria Peak. One thing I did notice was that the locals seemed to find our flip flops hilarious and kept pointing at our feet. Very strange.

Very good value for money - although we did have to pay extra for the boat trip at the fishermans village which came as a surprise. We were only in HongKong for a few days and so this trip gave us a varied insight into the city - would reccommend.
