As it was my husband's birthday while we were out there and he had always wanted to go deep sea fishing in the warmth.I arranged a date by giving Do Something different a call.It was really easy the coach picked him up from our hotel which meant the rest of the family had a free day to go shopping at the outlet Mall. The trip was really well organised and before getting on the boat he had lunch which was enough to feed 2 people.Even though it was a full boat there was enough space to get comfy. As it was a really clear day they went out the full 10 miles and he could see down to the coral reef.He did manage to catch a sea bass however as it wasn't long enough he had to throw it back (at least that is what he said). Some of the other guys did catch some bigger ones. The captain pointed out to them a shark a bit further out.He really did enjoy his day of fishing and got some really good pictures. The rest of the family enjoyed our shopping without him moaning about why we were taking so long.He did say he would do it again and even has talked some of his mates into going next time.

I booked this trip as the rest of the family were going to swim with the dolphins down in Miami. Being a keen boat fisherman in the UK i was really looking forward to this trip, what a let down. The pick up and trip down to Clearwater was fine , the driver and courier looked after us very well. Had lunch in a local resturant, food was good now it goes down hill, on reaching the boat i was told it may not go out as not enough people had booked, i waited for nearly an hour before they decided to go out with only 10 people on board. When we got to the fishing grounds we were given what i would call rubbish tackle, beat up old rods, rusty reels. I asked if i could borrow some of the crews gear , willing to pay for the hire, only to be told i have to use the gear provided . \we started fishing and i caught a few, but felt i could better if i could use another bait , the answer was , you can only use the bait provided, was not even allowed to cut it up myself. Overall a bad days fishing, sorry, 3 hours and 2 of that was the trip out and back. I can see this may apeal to the person who has never fished before but to seasoned angler's like myself not an enjoyable experiance. I'd liken it to "mackerel fishing" trip from any seaside town in the UK, and very pricey too. Knowing what i know now any one considering a fishing trip is better off driving down and booking atrip from the many boats that operate from clearwater, the family can enjoy the great beach there.
