This cruise to Green Island is an amazing way to spend a day on the world famous Great Barrier Reef. Your modern catamaran will speed you to this picture-postcard site and you will have a full day to explore, snorkel or simply sunbathe before your return to Cairns in the early evening.
A protected Marine National Park, Green Island is home to an abundance of marine life and this coupled with the beautiful coral reef which fringes the island makes this an ideal place to visit for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. The dense rainforest which makes up the interior of the island is perfect for a break from the heat of the Queensland sun and you can see some of Australia's tropical bird and wildlife from one of the many walking tracks on that traverse the island.
As well as these natural wonders, Green Island also boasts Marineland Melanesia, a nautical museum and an Underwater Observatory. If you would like to do something a bit more exciting go tandem parasailing or take a trip in a semi-submersible to watch a fish feeding frenzy. Dive trips can also be arranged while you are on the island, and if you are a real adrenaline junkie how about an amazing scenic flight over the reef.
Your friendly crew will arrange for you to either go on a complimentary glass bottom boat cruise so that you can admire the brightly coloured tropical fish and the reef they life in, or if you want to get up close and personal with the fish, giant clams and even turtles then you will be given snorkelling equipment to use for the duration of your stay.
