We were really lucky on the day we went on the trip there was just the 2 of us which really made it very special. We went on the 1000am flight and it was so clear that we could see for miles around. The polit even though he must have down this trip many many times before kept up a full running narration about all the landmarks and a few extra tips on sightseeing in the area as well. We had decided on the grande tour because it went over the town of Sausalito and this appealed to my husband as he does a bit of painting. The shoreline is very dramatic then in now time at all we were over the Island of Alcatraz, must say I wouldn't have wanted to end up there it really did look very forboding even in the sun. The highlight for both of us was actually flying unde the Golden Gate bridge, which the polit did tell us that it can only be done on clear days. I would certainly suggest any first timers to San Francisco to go on this tour.
