Your day starts with a short drive to the pretty town of Ingenio which is one of the oldest on the island and an important centre for handicrafts. Here you visit the Museo de Piedra – Museum of Stone – best know for its embroidery school and handicraft workshop. Afterwards the tour continues pass the towns of Tedle and Tafira as you head to the stunning Bandama Crater. This volcanic crater is 1000 metres across and 200 metres deep and from the observation platform you can enjoy spectacular views of the crater and across to the north and east coasts of the island. Travel on through La Atalaya which is famous for its cave houses and pottery, Santa Brigada, Pino before stopping in Teror. This quaint town has some of the best examples of colonial-style mansions and is dominated by the 18th century Basilica de la Virgen del Pino. At Valleseco, you will stop for lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to the villages of Cueva Corcho and Cruz de Tejeda which nestles in a mountainside surrounded by terraced cornfields, orchards and vegetable fields. At Mirador del Fraile and Roque Nublo see two huge rock formations that stand more than 70 metres high and result from the areas volcanic past. Here you can also enjoy wonderful views across the island. Your final stop is in San Bartolome de Tirjana, before travelling through Fataga and returning to your hotel.
