The original Venice walking tour takes you to the famous St Mark’s square where you learn about the history that lies behind the walls of it most renowned landmarks. Go inside the Basilica and hear about its Byzantine heritage and also see the Doge's Palace and its adjoining prisons that retain the true secrets of how a city built on swamps became one of the most enlightened cities in Europe.

Afterwards, your leave the crowds behind and head into the narrow side streets of hidden Venice.  Along the route you will see Marco Polo's House, a Merchants Warehouse, explore the lively Campo Santa Maria Formosa with its outstanding Gothic Palaces and view the Pantheon of Venice.  You will hear tales of famous venetians such as Marco Polo and Casanova and the tour concludes at the renowned Rialto Bridge overlooking the Grand Canal.

After your walking tour, join a memorable cruise along the Grand Canal and narrow back canals of San Marco in a traditional Venetian gondola. The route will take you to parts of the city that can only be experienced from the water and as you lazily watch the beautiful buildings and bridges drift by, your Gondolier will point out some the more important and interesting sites including La Fenice Opera House, Guggenheim Museum & Peggy Guggenheims Home, the beautiful San Moise Church, Mozart’s Home in Venice, the ill-fated Ca Dario Palace and magnificent Salute church built to celebrate the end of Venice's worst plague to name a few. Your gondola ride lasts around 35 minutes.

Casual. Dress according to the weather for that day. A comfortable pair of shoes are recommended and you must cover your shoulders and knees to enter St Mark’s Basilica.  Large bags are not allowed inside the basilica.

There is a maximum of 6 persons in the gondola.
