The former king of Morocco, Mohammed VI was a very keen golfer and did much to enhance the reputation of the country as a Golf destination. He was obviously on to something as well since the country rewards you with year round sunshine and cheaper green-fees than most European courses plus far fewer crowds - Golf as it should be!

How does the idea of beautifully designed crowd-free Golf courses in a warm winter climate grab you?  Morocco boasts many fine courses, far away from the bustle of the windy Algarve, but just a short flight from the UK.

All prices include return transfers from your hotel in Agadir and guaranteed tee-off times.  Club hire and buggy rental, etc can be confirmed in resort.  Read on to discover the merits of each course…

Golf Les Dunes - 3 courses of nine holes, each in an American style with Bermuda and Pencross grass.  The fairways runs through 4 small lakes, eucalyptus, and date palms, with exotic rough.  The course also features 250m driving range, putting green, pitching green with bunker practice.

• 3 courses
• Blue:     3174m Par 36.  Warm-up course with a difficult 8th hole
• Yellow:  3050m Par 36.  For those in touch with their swing
• Red:     3204m Par 36.  For those on top of their game
• Handicap: 32.  No certificate required  
• Tee times: 8am till 6pm.  Early booking recommended particularly during winter season (October – March)
• Dress Code:  Standard etiquette, Jeans allowed
• Buggy hire is available, but trolleys are not.  Caddies are obligatory.

Golf Du Soleil - American style built in 1999, featuring Tifway grass and including 3 lakes as water hazards on 6 of the holes.   Gentle fairways are lined with eucalyptus and date palms, but watch out for treacherous greens.  The course also has a clubhouse restaurant & bar, pro shop and club pro.

• Blue:     2928m Par 36
• Red:     2951m Par 36
• Yellow:  3025m Par 36
• Handicap:   Men 36; Ladies 36.  Handicap certificate required.  Players above maximum and under 54 Green card may play only for 9 holes after 3pm
• Tea times: 8am till 7pm.  Early booking recommended particularly during winter season (October – March)
• Dress Code:  Standard etiquette, No T-shirts, jeans or shorts except Bermudas
• Buggy & trolley hire.

Royal Golf Club Ait Melloul - Designed by a mysterious Scotsman known only as Mr Wilson, with construction completed in 1955.  This English style course has triangular shaped fairways which run through pine, eucalyptus trees and geraniums.  There are broad greens defended by bunkers and groves of date palms which close down the angles.  The course also features a driving range, chipping green, putting green, club house, pro shop and club pros.

• Handicap:  36.  Handicap certificate or European green card required only from December to March inclusive
• Tee times:  8am till 6pm.  Reservations recommended at least 7 days in advance.
• Dress Code:  Standard etiquette.  No T-shirts or shorts except for Bermudas.
• No Buggy hire or Trolley hire available
