Learn to cook traditional French dishes and taste new foods on this fun, hands-on experience in romantic Montmartre.- Visit to a local market (morning session) or cheese and wine tasting (evening session)
- Two-hour cooking class
- Meal with wine
This informal cooking class will teach you some of the secrets of French cuisine and at the end of the experience you will be able to eat what you have made with a good bottle of wine! Emphasis is placed on fun and enjoyment and the aim of the class is to improve your knowledge and practical skills, but most of all increase your love for food. The school takes place in a cosy home-like studio and you will be supervised throughout by Eric – an expert English-speaking chef who trained in the kitchens of Joel Robuchon and Alain Ducasse, then worked as Executive Sous Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal, Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico and was Director/Executive Chef at Lowes Hotel Vogue in Montreal.
The day starts with a visit to a typical Parisian market in Montmartre to discover the seasonal ingredients and fresh produce. Learning how to select fresh products is the first step to good cooking and good eating. Then head back to the kitchen for the start of your practical lesson. Generally everything is cooked together, with each participant having his or her own dish to prepare. The cooking portion of the class lasts about 2 hours and at the end of the session, sit down and enjoy the meal with a glass of wine.
For those who choose to take the evening class, the visit to the market is replaced by a cheese and wine tasting session.
