Start the day with a driving along the deserted beaches of the Sunshine Coast with magnificent views of Fraser Island and the opportunity to see the amazing coloured sand formations at Teewah and the decaying shipwreck of the ‘Cherry Venture’.  After a short respite at Rainbow Beach where you can enjoy a restorative cup of tea, join the ferry to Fraser Island for a memorable 4-wheel drive safari on the world’s largest sand island. 

Drive along the sandy trails that zig-zag through lush rainforest, to the seemingly endless golden sands of Seventy Five Mile Beach.  Head north on an exciting journey along the beach and over fresh water streams before you head back inland through the forest to glorious Lake Mackenzie.  The turquoise water abounded by pristine white sand and lush forest make the perfect setting for a sumptuous barbecue lunch and there is also plenty of free time to enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water. 

In the afternoon continue exploring the island by 4-wheel drive, stopping for a wonderful guided walk through the rainforest before returning to the mainland.  Dingoes, goannas, snakes and an abundance of birdlife can often be seen in this natural wilderness and there are many wonderful photo opportunities.

Casual. Dress according to the weather for that day. Sunscreen and a sun hat are recommended and don’t forget your swimming costume and towel.
