This popular round trip is a great chance to see one of the world’s most dramatic glaciers. Under the leadership of an expert guide you will climb a secret track along the temperate rainforest covered slopes of the glacier valley. At the top of the path you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the sparkling ridges and canyons of the glacier below.
You will be given crampons, especially designed to ensure your complete safety on this unique terrain, and then you will be able to explore the amazing sculptures formed by the movement of this river of ice over thousands of years. Squeeze through crevasses and climb towering ridges as you work your way to the middle of the glacier on tracks and steps cut into the glacier by your team of guides.
Here you will find magnificent views of the icefall and the lower glacier. After an hour in this icy wonderland you will return to your bus by a different track and follow the blue ice waves and canyons at the edge of the glacier. Your expert guide is on hand throughout the expedition and is more than happy to share knowledge of the glacier and surrounding area. You can add your own review for this experience
