I was picked up from the Mirage hotel at 6.45am and taken to a place near Red Rock. We were then "sized up" and given a horse...unfortunately my horse "Magic" was not a "morning person" so i had to try a bit harder to make the horse move. Eventually the horse began to calm down and we had a great trip together. The only advice i can give a beginner is not to do this trip if you have never been on a horse before as we climbed a rocky hill and the horses tend to slip on the smooth rocks and may cause discomfort to the rider...especially uphill as the terrain was steep and the trail did get narrow at the top...but the views were fantastic!
This company offers rides lasting 1.5hrs (on a more smoother and even terrain) and 2hrs (going up a rocky hill and down again). It's important to note that the horses are so used to the trails and varied riders that they follow the horse in front and getting lost is almost impossible.
