  Overview

  This is a fun and unique way to discover the many wonders of beautiful Florence. Accompanied by an expert tour guide, glide along the streets taking in the wonderful buildings and landmarks. There are plenty of photo stops along the route allowing you to capture the exquisite architecture of Florence and your informative guide will will delight you with their never-ending knowledge and brilliant anecdotes that bring the history and culture of the city to life. The commentary is heard through a headset that will be given to you at the start of the tour.

  Your tour starts with a 30-minute orientation session to ensure you are comfortable with the controls  of your Segway, before heading into the historic centre of Florence. The route covers all the best known and best loved treasures of this Renaissance city including:

  • Piazza Trinita
  • Palazzo Strozzi
  • The Duomo
  • The Uffizi
  • Santa Croce
  • Dante Alighieri's House
  • Piazza della Signoria
  • Piazza della Repubblica
  • from the Arno you will be able to admire the sequence of bridges that embellish the Florentine scene

  Departure Location:

  The Florence Segway tour departs from the Segway Office located at Via dei Cimatori 9 Red (between Piazza della Signoria and the House of Dante Alighieri)

  Departs:

  Daily, 30 January to 30 December

  Start Times:

  2011: 10.00am plus an additional departure at 3:00pm, April- October; 2012: 9.30am plus an additional departure at 2:30pm, April- October

  Duration:

  3 hours including a 30 minute orientation session.

  • Hotel transfers to the meeting point

  • Entrance to the attractions  – this tour does not enter any of the buildings along the route

  Dress Code/What to Bring

  Casual. Dress according to the weather for that day. A comfortable pair of shoes is recommended.

  Additional Information

  The tour is not available on the following dates:
  12, 13, 25April; 1 May, 2, 24 June; 15 August; 1 November and 8 December

  Tours go rain or shine, there will be no refunds for inclement weather and rain ponchos are provided to keep you dry if it rains.

  The Segway is appropriate for virtually anyone from 12 up to 70 years of age. Riders must have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance and complete use of their left hand.

  The Segway is not appropriate for those weighing under 100 pounds (45 kilos) or over 250 pounds (113 kilos).

  Riders must be at least 12 years old.

  There is a maximum of 6 persons in a tour group.
