Discover the historical charm of Cordoba on this day tour from Granada. The city’s history has been shaped by Roman, Moorish and Christian influences and there are a large number of attractive historical monuments. Your guided tour starts with a visit to the beautiful Catholic Cathedral. Originally a Mosque, the building was converted when the Christians conquered Cordoba in 1236. Containing nearly one thousand pillars, the original Gothic style is combined with Baroque and Renaissance elements. Continue to the old Jewish Quarter that dates back to the time of the Romans and Goths where you will see many important monuments dedicated to the city’s most famous sons - Roman philosopher Seneca, Arabian philosopher Averroes and Jewish philosopher Maimonides. Here you find a labyrinth of winding, narrow streets, shady flower-filled courtyards and picturesque squares such as La Plaza del Potro as well as one of the few synagogues existing today in Spain, built in 1315.
