The Cu Chi tunnel network formed an amazing underground city during the Vietnam War and the system stretched from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep.

Depart Ho Chi Minh City in the early morning by speed boat. Soon the bustling city is far behind and the towering skyline is replaced with lush river banks, green countryside and rice paddies.  From the deck, observe daily life by the river and at Binh Duong Province there is a chance to explore the lively market. Enjoy a refreshing cup of tea in a local house and view the stalls of fresh seafood, flowers, fruits and traditional herbs.

Continue to Cu Chi and on arrival watch a video presentation on the construction of the tunnels before making your way into the tunnels. Here you can spend around an hour exploring the maze of tunnels and also view the various mantraps on display and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. This unique experience gives a fascinating insight into what underground life in the war must have been like. The return journey to Ho Chi Minh City is by road arriving back at around 1.30pm.
