Beijing is a reflection of China itself, steeped in history from the very ancient to the modern. On this full day tour, your first destination is Tiananmen Square, located at the centre of Beijing. Here you will be able to visit the Great Hall of the People, Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and the Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the people’s heroes. Learn about China’s more recent history influenced by Chairman Mao and the rise of communism. You will then head to the fantastic and mesmerizing Forbidden City, the world’s largest palace complex set in over 180 acres. Dating from the 1700s the palace was the seat of power for centuries and has seen countless battles and reconstruction. Here you will have the chance to see the grand halls which contain plenty of antiques and treasures.

After a satisfying lunch, your next port of call will be China’s largest temple and altar development, the Temple of Heaven, which architecture is extraordinary and heavily influenced by religion. The final stop on this tour is the Summer Palace which is surrounded by one of Beijing’s finest parks. This has been a sanctuary for emperors for 800 years. You will be able to look around the grounds, temples and it is also home to the world’s longest art gallery.
