Overview

Rise in the early morning and travel in darkness through the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to the Ayers Rock sunrise viewing area. Here you can enjoy a warming cup of tea or coffee as you witness the sun’s first rays set the Red Centre alight, truly a magical experience.  As the sky brightens, those with a good level of fitness can choose to climb Ayers Rock for stunning panoramic views of the desert. If you do not wish to climb the rock can enjoy an unguided leisurely stroll along Mala Walk where you can see painted caves and the stunning  Kantju Gorge.

After the climbers have descended, begin your base tour of Ayers Rock or Uluru as it is know to the Aboriginal people. Your enthusiastic driver/guide will bring to life the Aboriginal beliefs, myths and legends of this sacred site and you will have a chance to view spectacular rock formations, ancient aboriginal rock paintings and Mutitjulu waterhole – a sacred hunting site.  Your guide will also give you a fantastic insight into the unique flora and fauna of the area and how Aborigines have used them to survive for thousands of years.

Your tour concludes at the fascinating Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, dedicated to helping visitors learn about the cultural value of the region.
